look at that nasty beast roll in. i had no idea it even happened till i went out to get in my car the dust is still thick over everything and i guess the part of the "valley" i live in got it pretty bad. i wasn't watching... i was here |

Also an AZ native here! These are very cool to watch rolling in but, you absolutely need to be indoors when they hit where you are. Especially with asthma and allergies. They are not as "windy" as one might think but, it's like your neighborhood turns orange and you can't even see your neighbor's house when you're in yours. The scary thing is when people don't know how to drive in them. You've GOT to pull over and turn your lights OFF until it passes. Do NOT keep any lights on (flashers, headlights, break lights, etc) because other people think you're driving on the road and they follow you. Then you have pile ups and rear-ending going on. If you're going to join us in AZ, you must know how to drive in these situations. Flash floods, haboobs, RAIN! Please educate yourself and learn to drive responsibly.

I live in Phoenix and it looks a lot worse than it actually is. The dust just spread the light, so no fires. The worst part is the damage to your cars paint job and the blowing crap all over causing a lot of cleanup.
