The Park Origin Thonglor skybridges detaching during the quake. The separation was an intentional safety feature, not a structural failure.

The complex consists of three separate towers of different heights. Because each tower vibrates at a different frequency during an earthquake, the linking skybridges are designed to sit on runners so they can detach and tear away.

This prevents the towers from pulling on and destroying each other during heavy tremors.

The confirmed death toll has risen to 55 people. Local hospitals and triages have now treated 1,120 injured citizens.

Search and rescue teams are still actively looking for 31 missing persons buried under landslides or collapsed structures.

The scale of the disaster has widened, affecting over 390,000 people, around 86,000 families. 3,845 houses are completely destroyed and an additional 15,610 houses are classified as partially damaged,
