Re: Wing Walker Plane Crash at Dayton Air Show
Pilot was too low for the maneuver and didn't whip the roll around fast enough in order to re-gain the lift from the wings (which you loose when in a 90 degree bank). Doesn't look like it was mechanical malfunction as the left aileron was down and the right aileron was up. You can even see he was trying to yaw the rudder away from the ground to recover the airplane. Pilot error in this one. Too low and seems like he got confused and didn't have time to recover until it was too late. Pretty much what we call loosing your situational awareness in aviation. |

Re: Wing Walker Plane Crash at Dayton Air Show
Here is an enhanced image comparison to show Jane's position moments after the plane impacted the ground. From the image it appears she died on impact. You can quite clearly see that her head hit the ground hard enough to open it up and release blood and brain matter. Her right arm also appears to be torn from her shoulder and forced up against the side of her head. These are obvious signs of massive trauma experienced when the plane impacted the airfield with Jane at the wingtip. Within a second or two of this photo her body would have started twisting and rolling with limbs flailing and razor sharp debris impacting and battering all over. Within 5 seconds her body would have been mangled beyond recognition, although it appears that large parts of her would have remained intact. The airfield would have been soft enough to absorb most of the impact. What survived the initial impact would have probably perished in the ensuing fire |

Re: Wing Walker Plane Crash at Dayton Air Show
ive seen seen the pics before of her under te plane and till now didn't realize she was a blond.never saw a pic of her before really or just forgot.in the pic I thought she had black air but now that I know.....oh wow...her head did pop open and eject her brain huh!...and her eyes...in the pic are just 2 dark holes. When this happened and was first posted ere I was working like 80 hrs a week and not quite thinking very clearly. In te one other pic looks like her head has separated from her body with a big gaping hole in the top.sorry for restating the obvious but is nice to revisit some treads here with a clear head and see cool shit I misses first time around.Plane crashes sure destroy a body |

Re: Wing Walker Plane Crash at Dayton Air Show
From 'The top of the world' to six foot under in a heartbeat... While I admire her courage and fire I think it was slightly irresponsible of her as she leaves two children behind. I really wish people would not say 'RIP'... it's such a paradoxical redundancy |
