Viking Air DHC-6-400 Ditching Near Half Moon Bay, CA
A twin-engine Viking Air DHC-6-400, N153QS, operated by Bank of Utah Trustee, ditched into the water near Half Moon Bay, CA, on May 20, 2023. The aircraft sustained substantial damage. Two people aboard were killed. The ferry fuel tank system failed to transfer fuel during a trans-Pacific flight for reasons that could not be determined. That led to fuel starvation and the subsequent ditching.  ·
