United Express Plane Collides With Chicago Maintenance Truck
At Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, a collision occurred involving a United Express jet, operated by SkyWest Airlines, and a City of Chicago maintenance truck. The incident, under investigation by aviation officials, happened early Saturday morning at 4:49 a.m. while the plane was taxiing on a closed runway. According to Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Elizabeth Cory, the aircraft, with no passengers aboard and piloted by two maintenance workers, collided with the truck. The truck driver received medical treatment at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, and was subsequently released. The two mechanics on the plane sustained minor injuries and were treated at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago.
