Super Petrel LS, a Light-sport Amphibious Aircraft, Crashes into the River
A video, filmed by someone on a jetski, shows the exact moment a small plane crashes into the Rio ***** last Sunday, near the village of Paricatuba, an area located between Manaus and the municipality of Iranduba, in the Metropolitan Region. The aircraft crashed in an area frequented by residents and bathers. According to the video, the plane was flying over the river at low altitude when it lost stability and crashed directly into the water, near the sandbar. People on the banks of the Rio ***** witnessed the incident and quickly moved to help. After the crash, the video shows the aircraft already stopped in the river, with several people around it. Bathers and residents of the area participated in the rescue of the occupants, helping them get out of the plane before the arrival of emergency teams. According to information from the Amazonas Military Fire Department (CBMAM), two people were on board the plane at the time of the accident. Both were rescued and suffered only minor injuries. A team consisting of a fire engine, a rescue unit, and five firefighters was sent to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found that the victims had already been removed from the aircraft by civilians. The circumstances of the plane crash are still being investigated by the responsible authorities. The plane was a Super Petrel LS, a light-sport amphibious aircraft. |
