Slick 540 Aerobatic Aircraft Crashes into the Sea Killing the Pilot
On October 31, 2015, a tragic accident occurred during the "Squadron Textor Show," an aerobatic performance organized by the Brazilian Air Force. The event took place near the Farol da Barra in Salvador, Brazil. During the show, an aerobatic plane, flown by pilot Andrew Textor, crashed into the sea. Unfortunately, the pilot lost his life in this incident.   |

Eh, he was probably alive or maybe in a stupor from being passed out/just coming to, and then drowned. That would be kind of slow and horrible.  I really have no idea, lol. |

From that perspective looks like that: however, the video below (taken from a different angle) shows clearly that the plane didn't touch the water at all, it was at least 30 feet above the sea surface at its lowest point  The accident is being investigated by the Brazil's Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Center: obviously, for some reason, the pilot lost the control of the plane, what they have to find out is the why. Sadly, he did survive the crash and was brought to the Portuguese Hospital, where he eventually died. Maybe he got disoriented. It's not advisable to fly aerobatic aircraft so close to the surface as there is no altitude with which to recover in any misjudgements. I have flown as a passenger in an aerobatic plane one time. ONE time.  You can unexpectedly lose a few hundred feet very easily through a missed execution or estimation. In fact, my dad took us over the ocean to practice. This way, if there was a problem, only two of us would die and not any innocents on the ground. (Always the thoughtful one, my dad.  )
