Plane Narrowly Avoids Two Others During Emergency Landing
On the morning of August 4, a light aircraft crash occurred at Cotswold Airport, resulting in three individuals being hospitalized. The incident took place shortly after 10.30am when a plane overshot the runway and ended up in a ditch beside the A429 near Kemble, prompting the closure of the road in both directions. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has initiated an investigation into the crash. Wiltshire Police confirmed that the pilot and two passengers were taken to the hospital as a precaution, though there were no reported deaths or serious injuries. The authorities have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to assist in the investigation. Multiple crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene. They reported that the casualties had self-rescued prior to the arrival of the Fire and Rescue Service. The scene was managed by the Wiltshire Specialist Operations and the road remained closed for several hours for the removal of fuel and debris from the aircraft.
