Plane Crashes into Major Melbourne Retail Centre
A tragic incident occurred at Essendon Airport in Melbourne, Australia, where a plane crash led to the ignition of a nearby DFO shopping center. The crash, which happened shortly after 9 a.m., involved a Beechcraft charter flight that was headed for King Island. Initial reports indicate there were at least five people on board, and the aircraft is thought to have been operating as an air ambulance. The aftermath of the crash saw a significant response from emergency services. Eyewitness accounts describe seeing a fireball ascending into the sky. Lisa Neville, the Police Minister, referred to the incident as a "very, very tragic accident." As of the initial reports, the status of those onboard was not yet confirmed, and there were no immediate details about injuries. The impact of the crash extended beyond the immediate site. The adjacent Tullamarine Freeway, a critical link between the city and Melbourne's main airport, was closed to traffic. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes and exit the Tullamarine Freeway as soon as possible. The DFO shopping center, near where the crash occurred, was not open to the public at the time of the accident, potentially averting further tragedy. |

Re: Plane Crashes into Major Melbourne Retail Centre
Prayers for Melbourne. Not only about the tragic crash, but also the complete fucking-up of their highways. In the Seattle area, they closed I-405 once during rush hour. Took me 6 hours to travel 31 miles. |
