Pilot's First Take Off Flight in a Cessna 152 Goes Wrong
A small aircraft crashed this Saturday morning on the runway of the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport in Guayaquil, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DAC) detailed. The control entity said the aircraft belongs to the AeroClub aviation school in Ecuador. For this emergency the respective security protocols were activated. The pilot was taken to a health facility. The pilot of the Cessna was a student who just made her first flight alone. Hence, during the morning there were people who were outside the air terminal to see how the first flight went. Moments of the accident were recorded in a video that was captured with a cell phone by one of the people watching the flight. Aeronautical firefighters who have a base at the airport immediately went to attend the emergency on the east side of the runway. Due to the situation, some flights had to wait or be diverted. |
