Pilot Greg Connell Killed During Good Neighbor Day Airshow
During the "Good Neighbor Day" Airshow at the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Chamblee, spectators and pilots were left in shock when a stunt plane lost control and tragically crashed on Saturday. As investigators diligently work to unravel the circumstances leading to the crash, eyewitnesses captured video footage that offers a glimpse into the moments preceding and following the accident. The footage shows the pilot's plane ascending vertically into the sky before abruptly nosediving towards the ground, culminating in a fiery crash. According to an official from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), a substantial post-crash fire erupted, engulfing most of the cockpit and fuselage. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed on Sunday that the pilot of the ill-fated aircraft was 50-year-old Greg Connell, hailing from North Augusta, South Carolina. Connell was renowned for his performances with the "Greg Connell Airshow," where he piloted the "Wolfpitts" aircraft. On the day of the tragic incident, he had been participating in the "Good Neighbor Day" Airshow in the Atlanta area. Investigators have determined that Greg Connell was the sole occupant of the plane when the catastrophic crash occurred.  |

 Impacting the ground at 150 mph is probably not what he loved. There are lots of things I like to do, but I'm not going to be happy if I die doing them.  |
