a single-engine plane crashed onto a house in Luziânia, Goiás, Brazil on Saturday evening, around 19:00. The aircraft was removed from the crash site by Sunday morning. The accident resulted in the deaths of two people, the pilot and his girlfriend, while leaving two other passengers injured. The plane crashed into a residence, which, according to neighbors, belonged to an elderly couple. Fortunately, the couple was not inside the house at the time of the accident, though the building suffered extensive damage. The front of the aircraft was completely destroyed upon impact. The pilot, identified as John Henry Baeta, tragically died at the scene. His girlfriend, Maysa Santos, succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the Brasilia Base Hospital. The other two injured passengers were taken to local hospitals. As of now, there has been no update on their medical condition. A video captured by local residents reveals the immediate aftermath of the crash, showing significant smoke and dust emanating from the damaged house. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. This incident adds to concerns about small aircraft safety, as the community mourns the loss and grapples with the shock of this unexpected disaster. |
