Noar Airlines L410 Crashes in Recife City, Brazil
In a devastating incident, a twin-engine aircraft crashed in northeastern Brazil, resulting in the loss of all 16 individuals on board. Officials disclosed that the crew had immediately reported issues shortly after taking off from Recife city. The pilot's desperate attempt to land on the beach near Recife was unsuccessful, leading to the aircraft crashing in an empty lot and subsequently igniting in flames. Authorities have ruled out adverse weather conditions as a contributing factor in the crash, which is currently under investigation. Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene and managed to contain the blaze without delay. The crash site, situated between two Recife neighborhoods - Piedade and Boa Viagem, was just 150 meters from the beach and within a residential area. Reports indicated that a circus had been set up at the site only two weeks prior to the incident. Eyewitness Erandir Rodriguez recounted the harrowing experience, stating, "I saw a woman in a window [of the plane] asking for help, and it just exploded. There was nothing to be done." The ill-fated twin-engined L410 was operated by Noar Airlines and had departed from Recife at 0615 local time (0915 GMT), en route to Mossoro via Natal. Noar Airlines, a relatively new carrier operating for approximately a year, primarily conducts short flights in northeastern Brazil.
