One report said it there was light rain. The tarmac looks wet in photos so IDK if it's a factor.

Trump cut them all. He knows what he's doing! He's a stable genius! I'm sure he'll have an explanation for everyone!

Re: NEW YORK | Air Canada Jet Vs Fire Truck, LaGuardia
I think that was another aircraft that was about to touch down, and the tower stopped them from landing. This one was already on the ground. But there was no way they could stop that fast. Looks like the entire nose section forward of the entry doors is completely hammered. In the pic with the NYPD guy with his back to the camera, if you look at the fuselage, you can see the support rings for the R/H forward door, aft edge ring. You can see the pin and pocket supports running up the ring. I don't see ANYTHING forward of that point that is still intact, so that is probably why the crew died. That is probably the first 10-12 feet of the fuselage that is completely crushed and mutilated, I don't see any signs of bodies, but they could be under the truck in front of them. I don't see any way they could stop that quickly, even with full brakes and full reversers. Just not enough room or time. And IF they had veered the aircraft off the runway to the right, they would have torn up the L/H wing, and probably EVERYONE would have died in the resulting fire. I am amazed that not more were killed. Too bad for this crew, though. Probably a dead flight attendant or two in the wreckage as well. I don't know how many FORWARD flight attendants they have on those aircraft. They would have been sitting facing aft, DIRECTLY where the ring that I pointed out, is at. Their seats would have been on the R/H side, in the door area, where the forward ring would have been. Although it is missing in the pic. And so are they. |

In the video, it looks like they pushed the truck ahead of them, probably sliding sideways on the rainy pavement. Wonder if the truck crew survived?

Another flight. It was next in line to land. They watched it in front of them though
