A single-engine Mooney M20K, N262MK, crashed near Hillsborough Township, NJ, on May 6, 2023. The airplane sustained substantial damage.

One person aboard sustained minor injuries.

The crash was caused by a partial loss of engine power after maintenance personnel failed to ensure the ignition harnesses were properly secured, followed by the pilot's inappropriate pitch control inputs. The airplane exceeded its critical angle of attack and entered an aerodynamic stall.
