In a tragic incident, a medical helicopter struck a power line in Council Bluffs, Iowa, resulting in significant damage and raising concerns over aviation safety in emergency medical services. The helicopter, part of a regional medical transport fleet, was reportedly en route to a local hospital at the time of the accident.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours as the helicopter navigated through challenging visibility conditions. According to local authorities and eyewitness accounts, the aircraft made contact with a high-voltage power line, causing substantial damage to both the helicopter and the power infrastructure. The crew, consisting of a pilot, a nurse, and a paramedic, miraculously survived the crash with injuries, and there were no patients on board.

Emergency response teams, including local fire and police departments, swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area and provide necessary assistance. The impact of the crash caused a temporary power outage in the surrounding region, affecting residential and commercial areas. Power company technicians were promptly deployed to restore electricity and assess the damage to the power lines.

Probably scared the patient. Thought he was going to get help and disaster happens, then everything is alright again.

Why didn't they call an ambulance to begin with??
I mean if you are fucked up to the point that you need to be air-lifted to the hospital... shouldn't you have had some sort of triage FIRST???
