Reminds me of that young chick that walked right into a propeller almost ten years ago... She survived, but yeesh, the strongest alcohol in the world couldn't get me to bang her.

One of the mags could have been grounded by either a fault or if he was working on the ignition system and purposely grounded one for testing. Also, it is good practice when shutting down a recip engine to pull the mixture and let it die completely, then turn off the mags and master. That way, all fuel and air that was left in the cylinders was spent so in the event that a mag was accidentally grounded, there wouldn't be any fuel in the cylinders for combustion. Propeller-induced face deformations are the sickest face deformations there are. I still remember the face of a military heli pilot split in pieces.  |
