Maule MXT-7-180 Crash Near La Porte, TX
A single-engine Maule MXT-7-180, N4008J, crashed near La Porte, TX, on April 24, 2023. The airplane sustained substantial damage. The pilot was seriously injured. The crash happened after a partial loss of engine power due to carburetor icing. While maneuvering for an emergency landing, the pilot exceeded the airplane's critical angle of attack, which led to an aerodynamic stall/spin and impact with terrain.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·
