Main Landing Gear Wheel Falls Off Dash 8-300 During Take Off
In a dramatic incident that unfolded during takeoff from Montreal, a passenger aboard a plane captured a startling video of a wheel detachment. The footage showcases what appears to be flames emanating from the center of the landing gear as the wheels were being lowered, ultimately leading to the complete detachment of one of the wheels. Amidst the commotion, a voice in the background is heard saying, "c'est bon" in French, followed by an exclamation, "it fell! it fell!" Air Canada's spokesperson, Manon Stuart, confirmed that one of the wheels on the left main landing gear of the Dash 8-300 aircraft became dislodged as the plane embarked on its journey from Montreal to Bagotville. Remarkably, the aircraft, equipped with six tires in total, managed to land safely. Stuart reassured that Air Canada's pilots are well-prepared to handle such unforeseen situations, emphasizing that the pilots in this instance maintained full control of the aircraft. Following the incident, the plane promptly returned to Montreal, where it executed a safe landing, and fortunately, no injuries were reported among the passengers or crew. Manon Stuart added, "Our maintenance personnel in Montreal are currently conducting a comprehensive inspection of the aircraft to ascertain the cause and initiate the necessary repairs." |

Probably Air Canada. We had to fly from Montréal to Québec City last year, and the plane we boarded was not much better, if not in the same condition, as the one in this video. Super Air Canada à marde... |

Yep, you're entirely correct. When I fly out of my town, we board Jazz. And, as I have pretty much always bought Air Canada tickets, I've always assumed that Jazz was a line of planes they used lol. Woops! Not my brightest moment, there! Haha!

They have a fleet of very old dash 8´s, reliable planes but fuck they are old, loud and creaky. They’re the only flights to get out of the shithole where I live. Air Canada à marde, en effet. |
