Luscombe 8F Crash Near Palmer, TX

A single-engine Luscombe 8F, N1113B, crashed near Palmer, TX, on April 30, 2023. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, and no one was injured.

The crash was caused by the installation of an unapproved rudder control cable, which suffered a fatigue failure and led to a loss of rudder control during cruise flight. A mechanic's inadequate inspection of the rudder control system contributed to the accident.
