Learjet 35 Crashed Near Teterboro Airport, NJ.
On Tuesday, federal investigators are set to examine the scene of a tragic jet accident near a minor airport on the outskirts of New York City. Their objective is to ascertain the factors leading to the crash and subsequent fiery explosion of the aircraft. The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon in Carlstadt, resulted in the deaths of two crew members aboard the Learjet 35. The jet met its demise amidst a cluster of small warehouses and industrial structures, merely a quarter-mile from Teterboro Airport's runway. Remarkably, despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported on the ground. In an extraordinary stroke of luck, no ground injuries were reported, as confirmed by the police. Notably, workers at a nearby public works facility had vacated the premises just moments before the crash, as recounted by an eyewitness at the scene. The crash impacted three buildings, with two of them suffering fire damage. The police reported that the Learjet 35, which crashed around 3:30 p.m., was only a quarter-mile (400 meters) away from the Teterboro Airport runway. This airport, though small, is frequently used by celebrities and the affluent. Notably, the jet had no passengers on board at the time of the accident. |

Upside down, or nearly so, at impact. Probably a stall-spin. Lears typically take about 3000 feet to recover from a stall. If it dropped off on one wing, then it was all over for them. Gusting winds didn't help, either.
