It's possible, but unlikely. KDF and KWS aircraft are poorly-maintained, and crews for the most part poorly trained. And don't even get me started on KQ.

Also, somewhat bizarrely, the aircraft in the angle of the footage above looks like a chopper. And a Harbin Y-12 isn't a chopper.

In fact, this looks eerily like the footage of the Kenya Army helicopter that went down in Kithyoko last July. Mind you, they fall out of the sky so regularly it all blurs into one.

You are right!
But even the news people in the U.S. don't know their aircraft. Every time a private jet crashes, they call it a Learjet.
So the reporter probably just put down what he was told.
