Please note no one got hurt apart from the goose who fell over! https://news.sky.com/video/moment-sm...ralia-13414201 A Piper Cherokee light plane made an emergency crash landing on Mona Vale Golf Course in Sydney, Australia. The training flight involved an instructor and student, both men in their 50s. The plane suffered engine trouble, damaging a wing and landing gear, but both occupants escaped with minor injuries. Emergency crews responded quickly. The incident is under investigation, with no serious injuries reported. |

The pilot (and instructor) were idiots. There was no reason they could not make a normal landing. The instructor should have his CFI revoked.  |

The last part of that forced landing went off the rails so they were lucky to have a relatively good outcome. They should have kept wings level and maintained a good glide slope (not nose down into the ground in the last second or two). That said, its not easy to do it for real. Forced landings without power was may absolutely least favourite part of PPL training. |
