Helicopter Crashed on Bali Entangled in Kite Strings
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) has received a report on the accident of the PK-WSP type Bell 505 helicopter belonging to PT. Whitesky Aviation in Suluban Pecatu, South Kuta - Bali on Friday, July 19 2024 at 15.33 LT due to being entangled in kite strings. The helicopter carried people on board (POB), namely 1 pilot and 4 passengers. Initial information is that all passengers are confirmed to have survived the accident. Two Australians and three Indonesians survived. Currently, aviation inspectors from the Region IV Airport Authority Office are heading to the crash site. PT. Whitesky Aviation has also sent an investigation team to the scene. The Ministry of Transportation, through the Directorate General of Transportation, will carry out more intensive outreach and monitoring of the dangers of kites through coordination with the Acting Governor and Regional Heads in the Bali region, so as not to endanger aviation safety and security. |

The strings wrap around the control rods.  This can prevent that.  |
