The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) reported that the aircraft that crashed in the early hours of yesterday between the cities of Itamaraju and Teixeira de Freitas (southern Brazil) was a helicopter, and belonged to state deputy Ronaldo Carletto. The body of the pilot was found half-roasted among the wreckage.

According to local authorities, the helicopter touched the ground with the propeller and scraped against the ground for about 70 meters before exploding.
