Helicopter AS-355 Crashes into the Gulf of Finland
On June 23, 2006, the wreckage of a helicopter AS-355, which had crashed into the Gulf of Finland the previous Saturday, was discovered at 20:30 Moscow time. Shortly after, the body of one of the two pilots was also found in the downed helicopter. A source from the northwestern regional emergencies center reported that efforts were underway to lift the helicopter's hull from the water. This operation involved approximately 30 emergency workers and eight vehicles. The AS-355 helicopter, owned by Baltic Airlines, had gone down in the Gulf of Finland around 18:00 Moscow time on the preceding Saturday. There were five people on board, with four of them being rescued. Among the survivors, a pilot and a female passenger were hospitalized, while immediate aid was provided to the other two passengers. |

I was just in a helicopter, when we went to Mauritius, and those things seem to be quite delicate, I prefer aeroplanes!
