In 2015, a Hawker Hunter T7 crashed onto the A27 near Lancing, West Sussex, during the Shoreham Airshow after failing to complete a loop.

The jet entered the manoeuvre below the required height and speed, reaching about 2,700 feet and 105 knots at the top of the loop rather than the planned 4,000 feet and 150 knots. It came down nose-up onto vehicles on the A27 dual carriageway.

Eleven people were killed and 16 were injured. The pilot ejected and survived with critical injuries.
