Giles G-202 Crash Near Santa Barbara, CA
An amateur-built, single-engine AkroTech Aviation Giles G-202, C-GXGS, operated by Mkt Aerobatics Ltd, crashed near Santa Barbara, CA, on May 2, 2023. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, and no injuries were reported. The crash was caused by a fire that resulted when venting fuel came into contact with hot exhaust surfaces or exhaust gases. The design and location of the main tank fuel vent contributed to the fire.  ·  ·
