Gates Lear Jet 36A Crash Near San Clemente Island, CA
A twin-engine Gates Lear Jet 36A, N56PA, operated by Phoenix Air Group Inc, crashed near San Clemente Island, CA, on May 10, 2023. The aircraft was destroyed. All three people aboard were killed. The crash was caused by the pilots' loss of airplane control after a catastrophic fire started on the left side of the aft equipment bay, in the tail cone. The fire likely started from a leak in the left fuel motive flow line due to a B-nut that loosened for reasons that could not be determined from the available evidence.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·
