Four Dead After Plane Crashes into Parking Lot in Nevada
A Piper PA 31 aircraft tragically crashed in a parking lot close to the Gold Dust West in Elko, Nevada on Friday night, causing a significant fire and resulting in the loss of four lives. Around 7:15 p.m., locals reported hearing a loud explosion and observed nearby buildings trembling. The site of the crash was identified as the parking area of Barrick Mining. Federal Aviation Administration's communication officer, Allen Kenitzer, revealed via email that the circumstances of the Piper PA 31 crash remain unclear at this time. Authorities confirmed that the aircraft had four individuals on board. Kenitzer reported that their conditions are currently unknown, and no injuries on the ground have been reported. A local Elko cardiologist noted that the aircraft was en route to the University of Utah, carrying a heart patient. In a statement issued early Friday morning, a spokesperson for American Med Flight announced the unfortunate demise of three crew members and the patient aboard the aircraft. "We are deeply saddened by this incident and are seeking answers to many questions at this moment," the statement expressed. The statement also mentioned that the families of the deceased have been informed, and the company is actively cooperating with federal agencies conducting the investigation. Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are set to carry out thorough investigations into the causes of the crash. |
