FedEx Cargo Plane Left Wing on Fire Causing an Explosion
Operations at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport in Florida were temporarily halted on Friday for several hours following an incident involving a FedEx cargo plane. The aircraft, identified as FedEx 910 and a DC-10 model, experienced a significant malfunction during its runway roll on Runway 10 Left. This issue led to the collapse of the plane's landing gear, which subsequently caused the left wing of the plane to ignite. Eyewitness accounts describe a dramatic scene where the aircraft appeared to explode while still on the runway. This explosion was severe enough to detach the engine from the rest of the plane. The immediate aftermath of this incident and whether there were any casualties was not clear at the time. FedEx, in response to the incident, released a statement confirming their cooperation with the relevant authorities to investigate and address the situation. The incident led to significant disruptions at the airport as emergency protocols were activated to handle the situation. |

Re: FedEx Cargo Plane Left Wing on Fire Causing an Explosion
I think the thing flying up in the air from the explosion is the horizontal stabilizer. They carry fuel in some of them, since they are so big. I thought it was that when I saw the first film, but when I watched the 2nd vid, I am almost certain. Anyone out there have any input on this?
