Authorities received a distress call at approximately 12:40 p.m. reporting a plane crash involving a Pilatus PC-12 turboprop, single-engine aircraft with tail number #N950KA . The crash occurred in the vicinity of Walk in Water Road and Jewell Lane. It took emergency crews over an hour to reach the crash site, necessitating the use of ATVs for access. Medical personnel were also airlifted to the scene due to the challenging terrain.

Initial investigations revealed that the aircraft experienced structural failure before the crash, with debris scattered as far as 2 miles away in the Tiger Creek Swamp area. The plane was flying at an altitude of approximately 26,000 feet when it began encountering issues. However, the exact cause of the crash remains unknown at this juncture.

Witnesses in the area recounted the horrifying moments when the plane spiraled and eventually crashed. Joyce Trupiana, along with her husband Andy, observed the tragic incident unfold. Andy witnessed the plane spiraling before it disappeared from sight, followed by a loud impact.

Neighbors like Hughie Chumney also described hearing the aircraft struggling before the crash, likening the sound to acrobatics and, subsequently, a sonic boom.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office disclosed that Ron Bramlage was piloting the aircraft, accompanied by his family, including his wife Rebecca and their four children. Three of the children have been accounted for, while efforts continue to locate the fourth child.

According to FlightAware.com, the aircraft, owned by Bramlage's company Roadside Ventures LLC, was en route from St. Lucie County International Airport to Freeman Field in Junction City, Kansas. Flight tracking data showed the plane's departure from Treasure Cay, Bahamas, with stops in St. Lucie County for immigration procedures before continuing towards Junction City.

more or less just down the road from me, pretty familiar with that area as well, though I do not know any of the family involved in the crash, never heard of them

even though it does not look like it in that video or the pictures, the weather has been pretty bad all day, good gusts of wind and a lot of rain

Just some new facts I found thanks to Google:

-N950KA (PC12) was previously owned by Todd Macaluso (Casey Anthony attorney) and reportedly transported Anthony after her murder acquittal.

-Ron Bramlage purchased the plane from Macaluso only 3 months prior to the crash.

-The pilots son (Boston 13) was found 1/2 away from the wreckage after being sucked out of an opening in the fuselage after part of the wing snapped off.

-Reported by ATC that shortly after being cleared to divert around weather, the PC12 began to descend at 15,000 FPM, believed to have led to part of the wing being snapped off (max descent rate of a PC12 is 4000-6000 FPM)

So sad a whole family gets wiped out in a moment. I'd like to see the NTSB report.

A decent from 22,500' to 10,700' in 36 seconds is almost 20,000 FPM... scary stuff! I still would like to see the final NTSB report, great find either way!!
