Eurocopter Crashing at a Popular Fiji Resort

A young family from New Zealand is determined to continue their Pacific holiday despite a frightening helicopter crash that occurred at a popular Fiji resort.

The incident unfolded at the Treasure Island resort when a Eurocopter operated by Island Hoppers, carrying a total of seven individuals, experienced a crash landing. Among those on board were a New Zealand family with two young children and an elderly Australian couple, all under the command of a Kiwi pilot.

An eyewitness observed the helicopter collide with two trees, a result of being caught in a sudden gust of wind.

Robert Wade, the general manager of Treasure Island, disclosed that the New Zealand family had just arrived for a five-night Christmas vacation when the accident occurred. Resort staff swiftly rushed to the crash site along the beachfront and provided assistance to passengers who had sustained cuts and bruises.

"Our nurse tended to the passengers and the crew and made sure they were okay," remarked Mr. Wade.

Thankfully, no one suffered severe injuries, and all the holidaymakers opted to continue their island getaways. The New Zealand family relocated to Treasure Island, while the elderly Australian couple chose to proceed to a different resort via helicopter.

Mr. Wade acknowledged that this experience would undoubtedly be a memorable one for the travelers.

As a precautionary measure, the elderly couple returned to the mainland for a medical checkup before resuming their holiday at an alternate resort. Mr. Wade noted their willingness to board a helicopter for the journey, signifying their confidence in the safety of air travel.

The New Zealand family remained committed to their holiday plans and continued to enjoy their Pacific getaway. The resort's nurse attended to their needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed that it had offered assistance to the affected family. Meanwhile, Fiji's Civil Aviation Authority is conducting an investigation into the incident.

An Australian, Bob Carroll, and his family were dining just 50 meters away when the Eurocopter collided with a tree before hitting another tree and crashing near a pool. Carroll described the incident as bizarre, freaky, and scary but expressed relief that all passengers managed to escape the helicopter unharmed.

The wreckage is scheduled to be transported back to the Fiji mainland via barge as part of the ongoing investigation.

That's like the goofy ass grandma that pulls up safely in the parking space and then goes full throttle and kills everyone.

It seems like a very stupid place to put a landing pad, right next to a load of trees on the part of an island that is most exposed to ocean breezes.
