Dallas Airshow B-17 Flying Fortress Collides With Another Plane
On November 12, 2022, a tragic mid-air collision occurred at the Wings Over Dallas airshow at Dallas Executive Airport in Dallas, Texas. This incident involved two World War II-era aircraft: a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra fighter. The collision happened around 1:20 PM local time. The impact resulted in the deaths of all six crew members aboard both aircraft. The casualties included Terry Michael Barker, Kevin Dimitri "K5" Michels, Daniel Alexander Ragan, Leonard Lloyd "Len" Root, and Curtis James Rowe aboard the B-17, and Craig Stephen Hutain, who was the sole pilot of the P-63. Terry Barker was a former American Airlines pilot and an Army helicopter pilot, as well as a former city council member in Keller, Texas. Craig Hutain was a former commercial pilot with experience flying since his teenage years. Kevin Michels was an active member of the Commemorative Air Force, serving as a historian and media representative. Len Root was a retired commercial pilot who had flown for American Airlines. Dan Ragan was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and Curtis J. Rowe was a member of the Ohio Wing Civil Air Patrol.

Re: Dallas Airshow B-17 Flying Fortress Collides With Another Plane
Oh, fuck...The colliding plane looks like a Mustang. There were two other Mustangs leading the B-17, I would think the third one was, too. I just cant make out the silhouette.

Looks more like ramming than colliding. Single engine pilot clearly at fault. Hope he wasn’t updating his Facebook status at the time.
