Cessna T210N Turbo Centurion Crashes Onto Road After 1 Minute, Killing 2
A single-engine Cessna T210N Turbo Centurion (registration XB-AZG), operated by the private firm Grupo Aeroespacial Avspace took off from Pachuca's Aeropuerto Ingeniero Juan Guillermo Villasana at 9:30 AM local time, bound for Cuernavaca International Airport in Morelos. Barely one minute after departure (at 9:31 AM), the aircraft failed to sustain its initial climb. It plummeted and crashed onto Avenida El Tezontle in the Venta Prieta neighborhood, roughly 500 meters from the runway threshold. Both occupants on board were killed instantly upon impact. They were officially identified by state authorities as pilot Moisés González Meléndez and co-pilot José Jaime Jarquín Ramos. The fuselage violently burst into flames upon hitting the street, sending thick black smoke into the air near a local Sam’s Club and the 18th Military Zone. Miraculously, despite crashing into a highly populated urban area, no bystanders on the ground were killed. The plane rapidly lost altitude, clipped overhead power lines, and plunged nose-first onto the avenue before exploding. Witnesses noted that hooking onto the wiring potentially prevented the aircraft from smashing directly into residential homes. While witnesses suspected mechanical failure or power line entanglement, authorities are still working to determine the official cause. |

Was the aircraft mis-fueled with jet fuel? |
