Cesna 172 Crash - Malaysia

A flight instructor and a trainee survived after a Cesna 172 plane crashed near Ladang MAIP, Sungkai, here, today. The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received a call at 9.46am today. According to him, Slim River Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) assisted by BBP Bidor and BBP Tanjung Malim rushed to the scene of the incident.

"Preliminary information, an airplane was reported to have fallen near the MAIP Sungkai Farm, a Cesna 172 type airplane from Layang Layang Flying Academy. The victims are Flight Instructor, Captain Shahrul Imran, 30s, and Trainee, Le Ho Jia, 20s," he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), Datuk Captain Norazman Mahmud said, he will issue a media statement today.

A light aircraft is believed to have crashed in a farm in Besout 2 Additional here this morning. It is understood that the incident occurred at approximately 9.55am involving an unidentified aircraft. Based on initial information, the plane was boarded by two victims, a man and a woman respectively. Both victims were also reported to have suffered injuries as a result of the incident.
