Body From Air Florida Flight 90 Floating in River
The tragic aviation disaster known as Air Florida Flight 90 unfolded on a fateful day, January 13, 1982, within the confines of Washington, D.C. The ill-fated flight, operated by a Boeing 737-222, was on its course from Washington National Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a planned stopover in Tampa, Florida. Tragically, shortly after takeoff, the aircraft collided with the 14th Street Bridge that spanned the Potomac River, ultimately plummeting into the frigid waters below. This horrific incident led to a substantial loss of life and heroic rescue efforts. The devastating crash of Flight 90 claimed the lives of 78 individuals, including four motorists who were on the bridge at the time of impact. Remarkably, there were five survivors from the aircraft, bearing witness to the harrowing event. This catastrophe unfolded amidst the backdrop of a severe winter storm, casting a profound influence on the flight's departure and overall performance. The comprehensive investigation conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) shed light on several contributing factors to this tragic event. It was revealed that the aircraft had not undergone proper de-icing procedures, and the flight crew had neglected to activate the engine anti-ice system, resulting in erroneous sensor readings and diminished engine thrust. Furthermore, the investigation exposed shortcomings in airline protocols and policies pertaining to winter operations, encompassing critical aspects such as de-icing protocols and pilot training for adverse icy conditions. Here you can see the body of an unknown passenger who was killed in the crash of Air Florida Flight 90. The body is surrounded by debris and laying in the icy water of the Potomac River. · |

Very creepy. Eyes still open. Something unsettling about being in a river of ice too. |

There was the one guy that died a hero, repeatedly giving up the life ring from the helicopter. It is moving footage to watch.
