Beech A36 N2038Y Crash Near Big Bear, CA

A single-engine Beech A36, N2038Y, crashed near Big Bear, CA, on May 1, 2023. The airplane sustained substantial damage.

Three people aboard were killed.

The crash was caused by the pilot exceeding the airplane's critical angle of attack and failing to maintain adequate airspeed on short final while operating in adverse wind conditions, resulting in an aerodynamic stall and impact with terrain.
