Antonov Cargo Aircraft Crashed In Northern Kavala, Greece
A cargo aircraft, an Antonov An-12 operated by a Ukrainian airline, tragically crashed in northern Greece near Kavala on the evening of July 16. Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic reported that the plane was transporting 11.5 tons of Serbian-manufactured weapons, including illuminating mortar bombs and mines, to Bangladesh. The arms deal with the Bangladeshi Defense Ministry was conducted in compliance with international standards. All eight Ukrainian crew members aboard the aircraft perished in the crash. The aircraft, owned by a Ukrainian company, was chartered by Valir, a private Serbian arms manufacturer. Contrary to some media speculations, the arms were not destined for Ukraine, as clarified by the plane's owner.  |

Local media report that 12 tons of dangerous cargo, probably ammunitions.
