Re: Aftermath of a Plane Crash
This scene seems to belong to failed rescue attempt operation in 1981, called "Eagle Claw", where US helicopters and a C 130 crashed in the Iranian Desert . The mission was to rescue the Embassy Hostages. Some 8 personnel were killed in the accident and the raid was aborted.

Re: Aftermath of a Plane Crash
I thought these photos looked familiar. They're of the failed Iranian Hostage rescue mission. These are photos from the Iranian press after the aircraft crashes at Landing Zone Desert One. Those are US military members. The planes and helicopters all crashed while on the ground refueling. This was the first time US Special Operations forces attempted such a large scale mission.
