Aaron Hogue Crash at the Reno Air Race
The 2022 Reno Air Race experienced a tragic incident on September 18, 2022, when a jet aircraft crashed during the competition. The aircraft involved was an Aero Vodochody L–29 Super Delfin, piloted by Aaron Hogue, a respected air race competitor and the 2021 Rookie of the Year. Tragically, Hogue lost his life in the accident. The crash occurred at the Stihl National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada. It happened during the Jet Gold Race, specifically on the third lap of the race. The Reno Air Racing Association promptly suspended the event following the incident. There were no reported injuries on the ground as a result of the crash. The specific circumstances leading to the crash are subject to further investigation by aviation authorities. |

Can't complain. They are doing what they want, they are well aware of the risks, and that's how life goes sometimes. Air racing is a sport for big boys. |

Re: Aaron Hogue Crash at the Reno Air Race
One person is dead following a single-engine plane crash behind a residential area during the Reno Air Races in Nevada on Sunday, the racing association's CEO said. Frederick Telling, CEO of the Reno Air Racing Association, said during a press conference that the pilot was killed in the crash. The pilot's name was not released. The Aero L-29 Delfín crashed in Reno around 3:45 p.m. local time while participating in the air races, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. "The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate," the administration said. "The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates." |

Hopefully he dusts himself off, and gets back up there. No one likes a quitter.
