X-37B in Space = Natural Desaster!

http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...thquake-74794/

"Whenever the U.S. space plane X-37B is sent into space, a natural disaster occurs somewhere in the world. Last year, on April 22, this shuttle was launched into space to spy on Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Korean waters, and if needed, to attack anywhere. Also, this spaceplane can make use of HARRP technology [out of Alaska], and natural disasters can be artificially brought about.

In early March, the second X-37B-ship of the U.S. Air Force launched a secret mission into space after his predecessor had been sent last year in orbit around the Earth. And again was able to identify a small group of specialized amateur observers the orbital missiles in the night sky. Air Force, NASA & Co silent as to the challenges posed, but the basic idea behind the shuttle robot seems to be clear.

Currently circling a miniature edition of the now disused Space Shuttle to our lonely planet and will probably remain for months in space. It is certain that orbital missile, called OTV-2 or Orbital Test Vehicle 2, not a "successor" of the manned space commuter, as we know him for many years and how he came alongside some spectacular space missions by catastrophic, fatal accidents in the headlines.

OTV-2 reached only a quarter of the size of a space shuttle, but it looks like a formal means - with the rounded nose and the stub wing. It also has a cargo bay that can accommodate nature, however much smaller payloads. But at least it's enough for spy satellites. In general can be assumed with some confidence that this unmanned orbital test flight device, like his predecessor, OTV-1 as a tool for intelligence agencies, especially (very hidden) reconnaissance missions will be used. But perhaps even missions are planned as orbital weapons vans.

As so often, it all started innocently enough. Namely, in 1999. At that time the X-37B as a NASA project was launched, therefore, a research program of the U.S. civilian space agency, which in itself is not so civil. There are already more than truly tender bonds that exist between NASA and structures of the military-intelligence complex. Nothing new, of course, but always remarkable. And why the relationship should today be any different? Still, there is the proximity to the Defense Ministry and intelligence applications. Above all, the OTV program, this should also be the much-quoted general public have become quickly apparent.

The transition to more secret cosmic spheres took place no later than 2006, the Pentagon and U.S. Air Force, the program took under her wing. At that time, a cloak of silence lay over important aspects of the X-37B. Budget and mission goals ever since much was heard. Then, on 22 April 2010, it was ready. OTV-1 was launched into space. Also this was in addition to not hear too much. Well, a few technical details were now known, but in this project, they should hardly be the Relevant. And shortly after liftoff, the track literally lost in nothingness. There was no official information on the orbital data. Soon, however, some could artificially missiles in orbit specialized amateurs make the lost space drone identified. Rate changes, they could descend again While over in the dark, but the "sky hunters" always managed to include new visual contact. Otherwise well in recent tests. Again, no official information was given to the known orbit. As early as 9 March, four days after the start, therefore, announced the Canadian observer Ted Molczan success. Previously, he was on the basis of past observations useful combination of published orbital elements, should give a first indication for the search. "Then he announced that his observer was Mr Greg Roberts from Cape Town the ship surveys in difficult conditions and thus as it were in the beginning of the secret mission to catch" the act ". Soon followed by further confirmation by other observers.

The largely secret OTV-2 moves on a slightly elliptical orbit with an inclination of 42.8 degrees, which it performs over a wide range of geographical latitudes, both north and south of the equator. It reaches its greatest distance at just under 345 kilometers, the perigee is at 327 kilometers. So small distances from the ground, which involves, inter alia, that this spaceship races in just 91.1 minutes duration once completely around the planet. Are the orbital data first set and it is clear when and where the spacecraft is now observed, can it precisely because of its low Erdabstands observe quite good, and it looks like a star of medium brightness, the moves, however, very quickly across the sky.

Who wants to know more about the current position of OTV-2, only the page and call http://www.n2yo.com/?s=25544 here OTV 2 (USA 226) call. Here are other orbital data related to, and after you click "Track it now" a world map with the current position of the not so secret secret shuttle.

ANOTHER ARTICLE:

Last week the U.S. Air Force launched the X-37. It was even on the news and you wonder what the thing is to be good. A big buck shot from the Tagessschau, which brought an expert from the thing would bring the suspected weapons in orbit and later to sell them from anywhere in the world.

Now, for the latter one does not need the ferry can land again, this would be sufficient and a satellite. Would be cheaper and easier, and would more than 270 days in space may remain. Above all, it makes no sense militarily, the U.S. can attack any country in the world with ICBMs and probably most countries and conventional arms. Such systems would be expensive but would only make a profit of military strength.

Now first time it only eats a shuttle that is a transport vehicle. The actual payload is limited. The payload space record has dimensions of 7 feet long and 4 feet wide and, by Air Force information "several hundred kilos". So, maximum height 2.10 m, 1.20 m in diameter and <1 tonne payload.

What can you do with it? In my view, not much. There is speculation whether the vehicle inspect other satellites, recover (kidnap) or to damage. But one needs an X-37B. Destroy a satellite is now very easy with floor-to-air missiles they cost a fraction of a launcher and only weigh a few tons. Above all, they are much faster to use. Also inspecting I can do with a small satellite and cameras. This I do not need space shuttle. The mountains separates because of the small size of - the payload is limited to satellites or Pegasus, Minotaur or ****** transport 1e can - if it were given the start price of the Atlas V probably cheaper, a new satellite and other satellites of the Russians are even greater going until certainly not.

As transport vehicles for satellite separates the X-37B also, because to start a new satellite, I do not need space shuttle, in the small payload would be pretty stupid even. The space shuttle caused very high initial costs. The limiting is the wingspan of 4.5 m - hence only the Atlas 501 or Delta 4M (5.2) as the carrier in question - the carriers have a payload envelope of 5.0 m in diameter. You are responsible for some 5-ton ferry but hugely oversized, as they carry 10.5 and 10.3 tons into orbit. More than double the weight. This results in high initial costs. Because of the size differ from cheaper sources such as the Delta 2 or ****** 9th

I only see a limited useful application of the X-37B: the testing of new materials and technologies in space and missions are limited by resources. First: It is possible to test materials in orbit - new coatings, alloys, glasses. Solar cells etc. Unlike satellite is a return possible. Thus, for example blindness in optical glasses are investigated by atomic oxygen. NASA once had such research aboard the LDEF operated. But otherwise doing for forty years like that, without the satellites back to you. If a material has failed, however, this otherwise, eg by poorer imaging performance of telescopes or decrease in available electricity or heating or cooling down of satellites.

The only purpose I can see it now, the X-37B with an infrared telescope would be equipped to make highly sensitive thermal images. It can then be used as long as long as there is coolant (liquid helium) and then return. But here, too: the benefit is limited. For astronomical satellite, the service life of infrared telescopes has become continuously longer. IRAS worked for 10 months, Spitzer has 69 months. Of course this was also because Spitzer will no longer encircled the earth and thus removes a heat source. But here too must be a simple tradeoff: As the payload is only a few hundred pounds would be a satellite with a larger helium supply for several years, perhaps a few tons. This must be the starting cost of perhaps several X-37B starts are compared.

The only peculiarity of the X-37B likely (if the above figure is true) are a large fuel supply. The hydrogen tank is about as large as the width of the payload space. 1.20 m in diameter, as this takes on a cylindrical hydrogen tank of 1.20 m length of around 1.9 tonnes. The volume is not fully utilized because of the pressure support, but it still comes to the fuel tank. So certainly some 1.5 tonnes of fuel are loadable. This allows a change of velocity at 700-800 m / s. The ferry makes it a medium-high orbit (up to 3000-4000 km-high circular orbits) to return to Earth. To reach this orbit requires the X-37B out of fuel, because it weighs much less than the maximum payload of the Atlas V and thus may be sold by it in this orbit.

So what is the X-37B? Perhaps the answer is much simpler: it is simply an experimental vehicle, like many other X-planes as well. But it will just launched into space. There will be new technologies for re-entries, new heat shields and other buoyant body shape as the Space Shuttle and try to show whether they are better or more practical than the STS. For the first time a spacecraft of the USA automatically land (the shuttle was mechanically prevented this, after all, could anyone else get the idea that you do not need crew for the thing). But nothing more. Perhaps it will provide needed data that can be later if you go to a new shuttle. But I do not think there will now many X-37B flights with any payload.

Re: X-37B in Space = Natural Desaster!

Good post. Why is there a need for an unmanned shuttle, when satellites can be deployed in space directly? My guess is that this experiment is actually a robot that can be used for automated retrieval in space. It is actually a shuttle to bring things back, rather than take things to space.
