No - hey, I've never seen that pic before!! That's one cool photo... I might have to steal it for a screensaver...! No, my auntie had one - there's about 12 kids in it in a line outside their school with their masks on and these little metal lunchboxes... I think the class teacher had taken the photo and my dad and my auntie were at the end of the line... She showed me it when I was about 13 - my uncle was dying of cancer so we'd gone to visit before he went into the hospice... He was Italian and I only found out that day that he was a POW... He was captured by the British on his way into France and I wanted to know about the POW camps here and that photo of the kids with the gas masks on came out then... Must see where it's got to - it's actually really cool. Sorry - it's probably me not explaining myself properly - haven't been to bed for a couple of days so I'm starting to talk rubbish and have an intelligence breakdown!!
Awesome picture that!!

Re: WWI - Ypres : The Gas Inferno

I want to give those old french guys a hug....

This is an amazing post. The amount of footage that there is out there of the great wars is astounding to me. I want to say its beautiful. Tragically beautiful.

I also love gas masks btw and do have a collection. They are pretty easy to come by.

Thanks so much G/F for these posts!
