It's a dog. The front distortions are simply an illusion because of angle. And the dog could be injured as well. It is malnourished for sure and shows signs of starvation. The musculature and skeletal structure can only be of a feral dog.

The pinkish areas of the photo don't even seem to be part of the animal to me. I'd say what we are seeing around the head area is in fact flowering foliage from the surrounding bush.
I'd definitely go with feral dog on this one.

I would say mountain lion IMO. Those hind quarters are not of a dog or "canine" The muscles in the bag legs match with that of a large wild cat. Any update on this?

I agree with the dog idea, Hell, it looks like my damn boxer with a regular tail on it. The red looks like foliage, there is no damn hump on the thing - that's the trees we're seeing - and the head is hidden behind another tree.
