He looks more like a malamute than a hybrid. And he's an old boy - needs to lose some weight and that would help with the arthritis it looks like he's got in his shoulders. Wolf hybrids are illegal where I'm from, but that doesn't stop people from getting them. The ones I've see look like straight up wolves; there is no denying they are hybrids.
