I knew to fear moose as a pup myself even though they just looked like oversized deer with a weirdly shaped head to me The local news reported and warned people that there was a rogue moose spotted in the wooded area near our city airport (I lived just off to the side close by). I was playing baseball in the field in back of my house that day, surrounded by the woods, when I heard a rustling near the trees, and I ran like that bear back home. There was no moose there though; probably a squirrel. Wish I had a better story to tell, like my dad. Well, at least there was a rogue squirrel (maybe) |

Mooses are territorial and can be very aggressive. You are one arrogant son of a bish… Go out west and taunt a male Moose. They are very big. It could very well have been a Squirrel Element, in which case you were certainly in danger of losing your life. They frequently sneak up on people with "just a rustle in the grass" like you describe, only to gut them mercilessly as they scream in horror at watching their intestines be pulled out and tied in knots before the Squirrel Elements finish them off with howls of glee! |
