Languages never translate directly, and this is even more the case in their spoken form. Well written speeches make use of the phonetic qualities of words to create impact and obviously that is lost in translation. But also there are subtle cultural differences that languages make use of. Geert Wilders of the Netherlands, aka the Dutch Donald Trump makes clever use of these cultural undertones by often using old-fashioned words - I think the best way to compare it to English is that he speaks in a manner that was popular in Victorian times by using words popular in Dutch literature of the era. Hitler does this also to some extent and another culprit was Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi. It works for stupid people who listen to the speeches because it sounds intelligent, and it also works for educated people because it conjures up images of a bygone era, when times were more hopeful and prosperous. And you also have the added phonetic variation when you draw upon a greater choice of words. I thought the vid was really well made and interesting to listen to. |

Plus, Hitler only had one ball, could barely cut the mustard (he only liked to look at but not touch Eva), and was probably sexually frustrated with a backed up prostate because of these shortcomings.  |
