A boat crew have captured the dramatic moment a hungry Mako shark attacked bait trailing from their vessel.
The footage, filmed up close using a GoPro camera, has become a YouTube hit with more than 1.5 million views.
The thrill seekers were riding on the Pumpin ' Hard sportsfishing boat in the Atlantic when they shot the film.
It is taken from the perspective of the bait planted by the crew and shows the moment the shark appears from the dark and launches itself at the fish.
It is seen clamping its huge jaw around the bait in clip which could be from a modern day Jaws film.
Mako sharks are found throughout the mid-Atlantic and the largest specimen was caught in waters off South Carolina, measuring 11 feet.
