Unusual choice of meal for a Flytrap

With the Venus flytrap, prey is limited to beetles, spiders and other crawling arthropods. In fact, the Dionaea diet is 33% ants, 30% spiders, 10% beetles, and 10% grasshoppers, with fewer than 5% flying insects.

I only tried my finger... LOL!

But as long as more than one of the detection hairs is triggered within about 10-20 seconds, the trap will close on just about anything! It has to have two different triggers so no energy is wasted closing on nothing...
