Underwater Sea Pictures by Doug Perrine
Photographer Doug Perrine's amazing snaps show the different world that is lurking just inches below the surface of the water. From reef sharks and crocodiles, to spiders and turtles, he snapped the animals during diving trips across the US, Canada, Australia and his home of Hawaii. And they prove while the water can seem calm and placid you can never take for granted what is swimming under your feet. Perrine, 58, from Kailua-Kona said: "I'm always fascinated by how different the world can seem within a second when you look beneath the surface. "This is illustrated by the creatures of the sea but I guess it can be the same story in all sorts of walks of life." The wildlife enthusiast also documented a friendly Manatee in the Crystal River in Florida and vicious reef sharks in the waters off the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean. The former diving instructor spent years teaching others how to navigate the depths before taking the plunge and going full-time as an underwater photographer — and has since become the world's best. http://seapics.com/information/about...g-Perrine.html |
